This is very similar to message page on orkut so I don’t think I need to explain how to go ahead!

If you have used the older version of this script by Link & Death Eater then you may notice a good thing about this script! That it removal of Time Interval!

‘Scrap All Friends’ Script With Group selection option!

The Link is back with his modified script for sending a common scrap to all your friends on orkut. Earlier 2 weeks before we had used similar script from Rodrigo Lacerda. If you have installed that earlier then please uninstall it before proceeding!

The remarkable difference between these two scripts is Links script have send to group feature where you can select people in group while Rodrigos script does not need Time Interval! Also there were some problems reported with Rodrigos script by Ambily, Varun and others in last few days

Anyway the script is out and you can install it like any GreaseMonkey script! Again it is for firefox users only.

Click here to install this script (assuming you have already installed Greasemonkey extension and you are in Firefox)

Once it gets installed open up www.orkut.com/sa (see screenshot) and you will get a loading message for few seconds.

Then you will see a screen like follows. The following screenshot is confirmation that your script is installed properly ready to fire. Every option is self-explanatory. For further help, I am here

This script have a companion script. Basically it adds ‘Scrap All’ option on all orkut pages so that you no need to type www.orkut.com/sa to load the script. (See following screenshot)

Orkut Dating Tricks - How to find girls in your city!

How ofter do you use Orkut to find not just old school friends but dates on weekend? Well the Internet revolution has shrunk the world but still I think most hunks want to date a chick from their own city! The crux of this whole story can be seen from follwoing screenshots…

Yes I can restrict Orkut search to my city! You may think there is no big deal as you can type your city name on search form and will get what you want. Yes you are right friends, but let me tel you you will get more useless results.

Let me make it more clear with my own example. (I live in Pune - a city in State: Maharashtra, County: India)

Before this trick: I went to search page and typed Pune and hit search button!

What I got in search result- Girls living in Pune (thats nice ;-), Girls whose hometown is Pune but shifted elsewhere, Girls who were in Pune once upon a time for some purpose like education, and so on.

The other results came from the fact that Pune is treated like keyword and any occurance of it anywhere was counted a HIT!

After this trick: I got Pune as an option in Location drop-down menu and put female in search box (because it can not be left blank) and..

What I got in search result- Girls living in Pune (thats nice ;-)… That it! No junk at all!

Junk disappeared because when I selected Pune as Location orkut search got restricted to occurrence of Pune in location part of profile i.e. City, State and County!

What is the Trick?

A geek might have guessed it already atleast while looking at state in bold letters! Yes I have just changed my State name to Pune. Yes it is incorrect as Pune is a city and not a state but this is what Worked!

I don’t know about Other countries (specially US) but your city name never comes in Location Filter. The drop-down menu has three option - 1. anywhere (default) 2. county & 3. state

The county & state options are extracted from your orkut account information so I have changed my state to Pune. Surprisingly there is no city option in location drop-down menu but orkut consider city as location while giving you result! So it worked correctly beyond my expectation!

The only side-effect is that if somebody visits your profile they may thik you are mad to put city information state field! Yes it will look like this =>>

Finally, you may notice number of results are less but they are all what you are searching for! The reasons I have mentioned already but still for better understanding check out following screenshot….

You can consider this is an example of “Quality over Quantity!”

Breaking News : Orkut Moderators and Admins May be Hacked

Darnell over at Inside Orkut doubted if the Orkut security was hacked as we experienced immediate deletion of many hate communities in a very short span of time. The doubt grew more prominent when news broke out that Orkut's First community " Stanford University" was deleted. After a brief span, the Stanford community was restored.

But a shocking thriller came from the inside sources that it was a most probable case that more of the Orkut Admins were hacked. Orkut Administrative Section has some employees called Customer Experience Representative's and other content monitoring staff. It is highly possible that some people have acquired access to details using social engineering techniques like cookie stealing and phishing. As an example : A member got access to the account of the Orkut Staff representative Shanon and deleted many communities, most of them hate communities. Along with it, the "Stanford University" community was also deleted.


So Orkut should encourage these employees to reset their login details and should also reset their cookies. There is high probability that some people are still holding access to such accounts.

I would wish google to take care of this matter seriously as privacy and security of Millions of Orkut Users is Possibly Being compromised

Step by Step Tutorial - What to do When Your Grease monkey Gets Corrupted?

Step 1 : Checking if your Firefox Supports Multiple Profiles

• Right Click on My Computer
• Choose it's properties and Navigate to Advanced tab

• In the advanced tab, choose Environment Variables Option
• In the environment variables window, look for moz_no_remote and it must have a value = 1

• In case, there is no moz_no_remote then create it by selecting new.
• Fill in the variable name as moz_no_remote and fill variable value = 1
• Close it down by selecting OK

Ajaxified Orkut Albums - Faster Album Navigation

Rahul over at Devils Workshop has made a cool grease monkey script which Ajaxifies your orkut album making it easy to navigate through. This script divides your album into two sections . In the Left section all photos are arranged in scrollable column like a vertical film stripe and in Right section one pic gets displayed at a time. You can click on any pic in left side film stripe and corresponding picture gets loaded in right section without reloading entire page!

How to Detect One : Is This a Cookie Stealing Script?

Title would seem confusing, but we think it's time to let you know how you can detect a cookie stealing script , thus avoiding a disaster. Unfortunately, Orkut has become more of a place of misuse than a social networking site. This would in a way help you playing safe on orkut and avoid using dangerous scripts which are forwarded to you or you stumble upon in a community.

If you have a look at the screen shot, you'll notice one of my contacts sending me a scrap with a cookie stealing script. Basically he has been hacked and the hacker is now using scrap all friends to scrap all his friends who may believe that their dear friend is sending them a script and they would not hesitate to use it. This can happen to anyone of us. So it's necessary for all of us to recognize which scripts are there for our cookies.

There are 3 cookie stealing scripts on orkut at this point of time :

NOTE | These scripts have been edited to a large extent so that no one can use it.This is just a learning process thus there is no way can provide anyone with anything as such so kindly don't scrap or mail for similar requests.

• The Normal Script - If you read the script carefully, you get to see the profile id of the hacker and document.cookie call which is the spine of this script.
  

In case you ever see a UID=123456722489 and document.cookie in a script then you must remember - Never Ever Run that script.

• Url Encoded Script - This script consists of a link which is usually a user.js

This anylink.js refers to a grease monkey script.It may also be a tinyurl which we have discussed earlier.

• Document.Cookie Encoded - This is the latest and most used script on orkut these days. Unfortunately, i have seen a lot of them in many scrapbooks and communities. Tn This Script, the cookie stealing function is coded hence not easily detectable.
